On November 13, 2017, the Carbondale Park District’s Board approved the use of land at the Parrish Park location, adjacent to the Life Center in Carbondale.

On May 22, 2018, the Carbondale City Council passed a resolution in support of a dog park at Parrish Park.

On January 14, 2019, the Carbondale Park District Board of Commissioners approved the dog park as a program within their operations.

On December 1, 2020, we broke ground at Parrish Park, where we hope to continue building in the Spring with the installation of water lines for fountains and a pavilion for people and pets.
